Electronic invoicing became mandatory in 2019 with the approval of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). Business to government (B2G) transactions are under obligation however business to business procurements (B2B) are still voluntary.
Furthermore sending or receiving electronic documents are available worldwide via the Peppol network and vendors@gov. Singapore was the first country to become a Peppol authority outside of Europe. In addition to that e-Invoicing system named InvoiceNow and also VAT returns must be filed to IRAS both manually and electronically.
