On February 17, 2017, Canada officially adopted UBL as a national standard, paving the way for electronic invoicing. Canada is a member of the PEPPOL network. Electronic invoicing is allowed but not mandatory in the country. Taxpayers can file their taxes online or by paper, or find other options such as certified tax software providers.

Filing tax return system called EFILE and must be send to the Canada Revenue Agency electronically.
